Our experience blends heritage and modern care. Marc’s ancestors were founders of five industry associations, with several serving as past presidents of the Australian Funeral Directors Association (AFDA), helping shape the sector over generations. Today, Marc and Friends builds on this legacy with a fresh approach that puts families first.

Over the past 30 years, Marc has collaborated on world-first innovations in the funeral sector, including designing specialised hearses and helping The Salvation Army establish one of Australia’s fastest-growing funeral services.

We focus on compassion, transparency, and affordability. Our Care Fund supports families in financial hardship. We introduce families to GriefShare, a support network that has helped over one million people worldwide. Our Instant Quote with Options & Advice tool is the first of its kind we’ve encountered, making decisions clearer and easier for families.

A Personal Story

My journey was profoundly shaped by the sudden and unexpected loss of my mother. That incredibly difficult time brought clarity about what truly matters. Reflecting on my experience, I feel that I was cared for well at the time, but it showed me how often families' needs go unmet. It inspired a different approach.

This loss gave me a clearer understanding of what families truly need during times of grief: compassionate care, clear guidance, and a sense of comfort. It became my mission to create a service where no one would feel lost or unsupported, even in their most vulnerable moments.

With the encouragement and guidance of long-term friends and supporters, I established Marc and Friends in January 2025. These friends shared my vision and brought their own experiences of grief, helping to shape a service grounded in compassion, transparency, and meaningful connections.

The journey of Marc and Friends has been shaped by the involvement of dozens of friends, some of whom now work alongside me, while others may join in the future. Those who care for families at Marc and Friends are Christians who have personally experienced the pain of losing a loved one. This shared understanding brings a unique depth of compassion and empathy to the care we provide.
