Coffin and Casket Options
If you're looking for a straightforward choice, the Richmond Coffin — made from MDF with a paper veneer and available in Rosewood (pictured), Teak, Maple or White — is one of our least expensive options for a funeral, at $660, regardless of size or design. Browse the full range.
We also offer a range of other coffins and caskets, including premium selections.
The most distinctive among them is the Waratah Casket, created in collaboration with a local artisan. Crafted with care from recycled timber, it offers a beautiful and thoughtful alternative.

A More Loving Way to Price Coffins and Caskets?
Many funeral directors apply significant markups on coffins, often to cover large overheads such as chapels.
At Marc and Friends, we do things differently. Without those overheads, our margin is almost entirely in our professional services.
No Extra for Size or Style
We apply only a small margin across all models — even when larger sizes or premium finishes cost us more. This is out of respect and to make choices simpler for you.
The only exception is the Waratah Casket. We apply no margin on the craftsman’s work, having started with him on that basis.
Our Least Expensive Options
For direct cremation, we offer a purpose-suited, affordable coffin.
For a funeral, two equally priced options are available:
• Richmond Coffin (Teak, Maple, Rosewood or White)
• One of the decorated Outside the Box cardboard casket designs
Both are $660, regardless of size or exterior design.
For those seeking the simplest possible option, the plain Outside the Box casket is $330.
Our Most Distinctive Option
The Waratah Casket is made from recycled timber in partnership with a local craftsman. All who have seen it have been struck by its elegance and simplicity.
No Preference, No Pressure
Because our pricing is fair and consistent, coffins and caskets often cost less than expected — and you’re free to choose what feels most fitting.

People often choose based on finish, materials, or environmental impact.
Coffins are tapered; caskets are rectangular.
(Marc’s grandfather helped popularise the latter in Australia in the 1950s.)
