Funeral, cremation and burial services on the Central Coast

Providing genuine care and thoughtful personal touches for families on the Coast.

Bouddi National Park. By Sarah Berriman.

The Central Coast is known for its quiet beauty — from beaches, lakes, lagoons, and estuaries to mountains, bushland, and hinterland. Marc is thankful to call it home.

Since founding Marc and Friends — and even earlier, from 2016 while working with another organisation — we have had the opportunity to care personally for families across the Central Coast, from the southern bays to the northern lakes, and from the coastline to the hinterland.

Among the friends in Marc and Friends is Phil, who has worked in the profession even longer than Marc, and shares the same heart for caring for families well.

We have supported families across the Central Coast’s southern region, including Bateau Bay, Chittaway Bay, Erina, Gosford, Green Point, Kincumber, Lisarow, Narara, North Avoca, Ourimbah, Palmdale, Saratoga, Terrigal, The Entrance, Tuggerah, Umina Beach, Wamberal, Woy Woy, and Wyoming.

In the northern region, we have cared for families in Blue Haven, Budgewoi, Charmhaven, Doyalson, Gorokan, Halekulani, Kanwal, Lake Munmorah, The Entrance, Tuggerah, Wadalba, and Wyong.

Service Options with Personal Touches and Care

Whatever arrangements you choose — whether a cremation-only service, a funeral and cremation, or a funeral and burial — we offer thoughtful touches of care.

How We Care for Every Family

  • Each cremation includes a choice of urns, suitable for keeping or for scattering with dignity if desired.

  • Every burial includes a basket of rose petals for family and friends to sprinkle on the coffin or casket.

  • Families arranging a funeral can also choose from coffins and caskets offered at cost, including a distinctive option locally handcrafted from recycled timber.

From the welcome table on the day of the service, we offer quiet care from the very first moment.

Whether or not you choose to have a funeral service, our support continues gently in the weeks that follow, through thoughtful aftercare.

Thanks to families who pay the usual fee, we’re also able to extend the same level of care to those in financial need.

After reading about how we care for each family, choose the path that feels right for yours:

Cremation-Only with Personal Touches and Care

Some families seek a simple and efficient cremation. Others value having time to share stories and memories with us along the way.

Whatever your needs, we are here to support you with thoughtful care — not just with arrangements.

Most families choose for the cremation to take place in Sydney, as it is our most affordable option. Cremation at Palmdale is also available, for an additional fee.

Your loved one’s ashes will be returned with care — either directly to you, or to a cemetery or memorial garden, depending on what suits your family best.

If the cremation takes place in Sydney, the ashes are returned through our partners in Tuggerah and are normally available within a week, by appointment.

Collection, delivery, or postage are included at no additional cost.

Funeral at Greenway Chapel & Memorial Gardens

Few chapels in Australia offer such exceptional views as Greenway Chapel, with floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides, overlooking the trees.

For services at Greenway, Marc often encourages families to consider booking extra chapel time, to avoid feeling rushed — especially if you would like to have a private viewing beforehand.

After the service, tea rooms are within easy walking distance of the chapel.

Service at Palmdale Followed by Burial

For services held only at Palmdale, the farewell can take place either simply at the graveside or in one of the chapels beforehand.

For burials in the newer section of the cemetery, there is also an outdoor chapel available. However, it does not have live streaming or audio-visual facilities. It can still be a more comfortable option than a graveside service alone.

Please note: the total below excludes grave, interment, chapel, and other cemetery fees.

Our fees for a funeral and burial are the same, even if the service is held at a church beforehand.

Funeral at a Church

We can arrange for the service to be held at your own church.
Or, if you would like us to help find one for you, we can assist with that too.

If the service is held in a church, a donation to the church may be requested, typically starting from $200.

One of the advantages of holding the service at a church is time.
Unlike at a crematorium, there is usually no strict time limit at a church, allowing for a less hurried and more thoughtful farewell.

Church Service followed by Cremation

Most families choose for the cremation to take place afterwards, unattended, at less expense in Sydney.

By not needing to travel to a crematorium — as is now most common — families can stay together at the church or gather elsewhere for refreshments, without feeling rushed.

The ashes are normally available on the Central Coast within a week, in an urn of your choosing.

Church Service followed by Burial

There are a few different options when a church service is part of the day.

Some families choose to have the funeral service at the church, followed by the burial at the cemetery — providing a natural continuity between the two moments.

Others choose to have a private service at the cemetery before a public service at the church, which can make arranging refreshments and gatherings easier.

The total below excludes grave, interment, chapel and other cemetery fees.

Burial at Cemeteries on the Central Coast

The prices shown below are rounded to the nearest $50 for simplicity.

The final cemetery cost will depend on whether you already have a grave and which options you choose.

If you are selecting a new grave, we strongly recommend making an appointment with the cemetery to discuss what might suit your family best.

Prices are correct as at May 2025:
