Research to Better Care for Families

At its core, the funeral sector should be about people—helping families through one of the hardest times of their lives with genuine care and guidance. Yet, the industry is often shaped by entrenched practices, business models, and financial pressures that do not always align with what families truly need. There are a number of research projects being considered — contact us if you think something should be explored.

Research Project: Commemorating Miscarriage (Draft Under Review)

Background

A miscarriage can be a heavy burden to bear (read a personal story). While there are many resources available, there has been little research into the different ways that a miscarriage might be remembered or commemorated.

Memorial services and funerals have long been customary in human existence. Yet when it comes to a miscarriage, it is not always appropriate for a funeral director (such as Marc & Friends) to be involved. However, couples often find their own ways to acknowledge and honour their loss.

This national project seeks to collect personal stories of how individuals have commemorated a loss following a miscarriage. Contact us if you would like to be sent the survey.
