Subsidised Funeral Support
We believe a funeral is a service before it’s a business. That’s why we set aside a portion of what we receive to assist families who need support. We call this Subsidised Funeral Support.
It’s available to families facing financial hardship, as well as parents who have experienced the death of a stillborn child, baby, child, or adolescent. In each case, families receive our usual Holistic Care.
When applicable, our Professional Services fee can be reduced by up to 80%. All costs still need to be paid upfront.
If you need additional funds, there are various options available—learn more.
The time available to arrange funds can vary — it’s best to speak with hospital staff, the Coroner’s office, or an aged care provider for guidance.
How to Request Support
The process is informal, but we do ask for a brief verification. A person helping you — such as a hospital or aged care staff member, chaplain, minister, social worker, or even a friend running a GoFundMe page — can contact us on your behalf.
They simply need to email or call us with:
– Your name
– A contact number
– The name of your loved one
– A short note confirming financial hardship
If You Have No Means At All
If you’re unable to cover any costs, you may not be eligible for Subsidised Funeral Care with us. However, alternatives are available. In NSW, this is normally known as a Destitute Funeral. In the ACT, a similar arrangement exists known as Funeral Assistance.
We hope this provides clarity and support during a difficult time.
