One of the key lessons I learned from a particular funeral director in the Shire — who has one of the sharpest minds in the sector — was surprisingly simple. Cremation-Only with Personal Touches (also known as Direct Cremation)
Most families we have cared for opt for cremation in South-Western Sydney, with the ashes returned to you on the North Shore. This is by far the most cost-effective option. However, some families prefer a cremation at Woronora Memorial Park for an additional fee.

Woronora Memorial Park, Sutherland
Woronora Memorial Park has two beautifully refurbished Art Deco chapels. Both feature ample natural light and an open, spacious design. Each is also equipped with audio-visual technology, live streaming services, and a quiet room with wheelchair access.
South Chapel
Well-suited for larger gatherings, it accommodates up to 120 guests indoors, with additional outdoor seating and overflow viewing.
West Chapel
Designed for smaller services, it comfortably seats up to 60 guests, with extra outdoor seating and overflow viewing available.
Following the service, a cremation can take place on-site, or a burial can be arranged within the cemetery grounds.

After the service, there is the convenience of refreshments at the Celeste Cafe function centre on site, if required. Most guests typically arrive by car.
Funerals at a Church
Followed by a Cremation
Families who want a funeral at a church before a cremation, cremation prefer for the cremation to take place later, unattended. The cremation itself typically occurs in South-Western Sydney, though it can also take place at Woronora Memorial Park, for an additional fee.

If a family is wanting to arrange a burial at Woronora Memorial Park, it may be convenient to arrange a function at Celeste Cafe function centre onsite afterwards.
